このタイトルは80年代のSF映画"ブレードランナー"の原作、
フィリップ・K・ディックのSF小説、"Do androids dream electric sheep?アンドロイドは電気羊の夢をみるか"からとっています。
遺伝子工学の進化が人クローンも生み出すという、ディック的悪夢がまさに現実のものとなった時代、今わたしたちはなぜ擬似世界に夢中になるのでしょうか?
フィギュア、ロボット、間接人形、ジオラマ、3DCG、など今増殖しつつある、さまざまなディック的擬似世界のものたちを集めたエキジビションプログラムのシリーズ7回目。






7つの大罪という、描き古された古典的なテーマがある。
「暴食・怠惰・傲慢・偽善・高慢・色欲・嫉妬」。
場合によっては差し替えがあったり、７つではなかったりすることもあるが、主にこの７つを人の持って生まれた罪とする考え方だ。
しかし、７つどころかそれ以上にたくさん、私は自分で吐き気がするような自分を知っている。そしてそれは紛れもなく、私自身の一部である。
だから自分と他者を、好きでいることは私にとって難題だ。
今でも消えてなくなりたい自己嫌悪と、強い嫌世感は私の内側にしつこくこびりついて、時折顔をもたげて私を再び捕らえようと、虎視眈々と狙っている。
前を向いて生きるために私は絵を描く。初めからそう生きられたら、絵を描こうとも思わなかっただろう。
明るく楽しい癒しだけが有難がられる現代、ネガティブな物事や感情には気付かなかった振りが当たり前だ。
だがあえて私は寄り添おう。目を逸らさずに自分を、人を見つめよう。

The title of this exhibition is taken from Philip K. Dick's classic science fiction novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, the original work that the 1980s film Blade Runner was based on.
When advancements in genetic engineering have made human cloning, a Dicksian nightmare a contemporary reality, why are we still obsessed with the simulacral world?
"Do androids dream? VI" will bring together a selection of the ever-growing world of robotic simulacra such as figures, robots, dolls, dioramas, and 3DCG, stimulated by the world of Dick.

The classical Seven Deadly Sins; warth, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony. Though there are some alteration and additional sins, these are what human is born with. But I know I possess much more than these seven and it nauseates me, and the sins surely live within myself.
So it is very hard to love people around me, or love myself.
I often want myself vanished, and I often want the world vanished, and my vice sometimes tries to capture me yet again, keeping an eye on me.
I draw pictures to look straight ahead in life. If I were a more positive person, I would never thought of drawing pictures.
Only “fun and happy healing” is welcome today, and never do they accept the negative side of life.
But I head on straight. I live with myself, and live with the world.
