Yuka Otani [Rock Garden Disco for a Recurrence of an Economic Bubble]

Metaphorical bubbles exist in various phases of our social life. A bubble
inflates to create "irrational exuberance" to a human mind. When it shrinks, a bubble works as a social membrane to form a self-contained microcosm.
I belong to the so-called Japanese Lost Generation, who spent adolescence in 1990's
after the corruption of a big asset price bubble.Though I am not quite familiar
with an extravaganza of the bubble in its climax, the unsuitability of the recent economic
condition makes me aspire a recurrence of an economic bubble.
The energy of an upcoming bubble in the 21st century may be able to even convert a quiet rock garden into a dynamic space. Based on a traditional Japanese Karesansui (rock garden); a centripetal bubble which represents a grand nature with a minimalist manner, I added "disco" element; a centrifugal bubble which is a heritage of the past bubble culture.
Karesansui Disco becomes a unique hybrid space where the two bubbles with opposite vectors co-exist.
