抱いたテーマゃメッセージの作品化のために素材を選択するのでなく素材を選ぶことからはじまり、その技術の習得を通して作品化する。 それはなによりも素材への愛から始まっている。とくに工芸やクラフトというカテゴリーを当てはめることに違和感を感じる新しい世代の作家たちにとってそれらは純粋に素材への愛が出発点となったマテリアル・アート。そこから様々なしなやかな志向と感性の作品がたちあらわれ、それらの作品達から多くの人々はまず愛のメッセージを受けとるだろう。
そんな作品を集めたあたらしいエキシビション。新しい世代のマテリアルアートのトレンドをトータルにプレゼンテーションするプログラムです。
このプログラムは1 9 9 9年より始まって14回目となり、2014年3月にはエクステンションプログラムとしてNYに持ち込みます。

This exhibition program presents art works that privilege material over theme or message. Honing the craft of selecting and using the materials turn them into finished works. More than anything, this process comes out of a love for the materials. These are material art works created, out of a love for materials, by a new generation of artists who feel at ease with the categories of craft and folk art. From these works emerge a variety of directions and sensibilities. Doubtless, the first message viewers will take form these works is love… Since 1999, this program has been an overview of the material art being created by a new generation of artists. It’s the 14th exhibition of the series. In March 2014, this exhibition will be introduced as extended program for NY Exhibition.

会期は2週間継続ですが、10/6(日)は休廊です。また土曜日は展覧会は最終日ともPM4:00までです。
