TOKYO art crossing BERLIN Maine Exhibition

1989年ベルリンの壁崩壊以後､ベルリンのアートシーンの主要の役割の一部を果たしてきたMITTE地区にある芸術複合施設、Haus Schwarzenbergハウスシュワルツェンベルグの中にあるneurotitan galleryでのエキジビションです。neurotitan galleryはHaus Schwarzenberg全体を運営管理しているHaus Schwarzenberg　EVの直接運営しているギャラリーです。プログラムはこのプロジェクトのメーンエキジビションとしてTOKYOアーティスト10名、BERLINアーティスト10名、NYアーティスト5名の計25名のグループエキジビションとなり、かれらの様々な傾向の作品が展示されます。また同時に会場ではアーティストブックの展示やアニメーション作品のモニターでの上映も行われ、メーンエキジビションにふさわしい複合的なエキジビションとなります。
This exhibition will be held in neurotitan gallery in Haus Schwarzenberg, an art complex in the area of MITTE. It has been an essential part of Berlin’s art-scene after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. neurotitan gallery is directly organized and managed by Haus Schwarzenberg EV who is organizing the whole Haus Schwarzenberg. This program is positioned as the main exhibition of this whole project. There will be eleven from Tokyo, nine from Berlin and five from NY. It will be a group exhibition of total of twenty five artists of different genre. There will also be artist-book and animated-film exhibition as well. This main exhibition will be a blast.

ある場に宿る記憶、面影、名残を読み取り、それらをその場の気配の要素として追及する。
作品は　場に固有の記憶や時間の流れの追体験、あるいは自身の既視感、そうした体験を想起するための脱構築的空間によって表現される。
Memory from places, shadows and aftertaste are there to be felt. These are pursued that very moment as elements. My pieces are inspired by anti-infrastructural spaces to either experience memory/flow of time unique to a place, or to virtually experience déjà-vu by oneself.

無数の命が集まり、世の中があり、自分も又その一つ。
一つ一つが存在し続けようとして出来た空気の動きや命の流れ、
そしてその一部である”自分”について考え続けている。
Life is fleeting; therefore, zest for life is delicate and magnificent.
Myriad life forms make the world and I’m also one of them.
I’m thinking about the air current and life’s wave in the process of living, included “myself”.

九十九神は、古道具や長齢の生物に神や霊魂が宿るとされる日本の民間伝承です。私はこれをテーマに古くなった道具を素材として用いて、その要素を抽出し、肉体的な要素に変換して表現しています。
Tsukumogami is an animism idea from old Japan.
Tsukumogami means the soul and the god stay in tools and animals which became old.
My artworks were made of used tools as material. I feel something from used tools and make artworks with flesh images.

布のオブジェー・絵画・ドローイングなどを用いたインスタレーション/ Installation of objects with clothings, paintings and prints
私はこの作品を通じて、私の表面を飾っていた「服」を用いて制作した仮面をかぶることで内面の人格(inner persona)に扮して、次第に内面の自我と外面のペルソナが互いの存在を認識し、融合していくことを願う。
The mask which you look at has visualized my “inner persona” hidden behind the face of real world. I have dressed to the "inner persona" made by clothes and accessories I had to wear, and show a gesture like to deny my words, actions, or face in the real world. But gradually, inner and outer persona are fused while recognizing the presence of each other.

My work places special attention on the appreciation of raw materials themselves, as well as the time based process of formation. At the same time, each piece has its own story or concept. I am often influenced by natural phenomena along side notions of fragmentation, change, transience and wonder.

Our main work is making objects which made with power source.
“time” always exsists our work.

静かに佇む冬の海の風景は夏の海の雰囲気とは大きく異なる。
季節によって自然の風景は一時的に変化するが根本的には何も変わらない。
この永久不変の事実を誰にも気づかれる事無く佇む冬の海と重ね合わせる。
The winter beach is covered with a snow, cold and silentness.
The winter and summer beach are completely different atmosphere, although those are exactly same beach.
The seascape which changes seasonally indicates that nothing changes fundamentally.
This winter seascape is overlooked as an unbeknown place for people.

『包む』という行為には、様々な苦痛や悲しみ、挫折や憎しみをも、愛や希望、そして人の暖かさで『包み』、肯定的なエネルギーに換えるパワーがある。その行為を身近な素材である布で行い作品を作っている。
My sculptures are created from balls that are individually wrapped with fabric and bounded together to make up an entire whole. Each ball represents the inner state of mankind. The gesture of wrapping each round ball, is an act of transformation that converts pain, sadness and despair into positive energy, such as love or a prayer for comfort.
My work conveys a sense of happiness and celebrates the human spirit.

時に私は、虫となり、形あるモノに風穴をつくる。
本質を奪われ、欠如を与えられた物体は、何を語りかけてくれるだろう。
　風化してゆく儚さ、今にも崩れ去りそうな不安感、尚もそこに在り続けようとする健気さ。
欠如を抱くモノだからこそ、欠如を抱く我々の風穴にすっぽりハマる何かが在るのかもしれない。
Actually, at times, when I'm working, when I'm carving, I feel I am like a bug--creating holes and uncontrollably bringing destruction to a form that was once perfect. But the material continues to breath even after all my wildness. The resilience of the material is so admirable, so it allows me to keep going until I find a form that fits into my missing parts.

2011年3月11日の福島第一原子力発電所の事故に見られるように、「高度成長した社会のには、自らその生活を破壊する仕組みがある」をテーマに光を使ったインスタレーション、絵画、立体作品、シルクスクリーンを使った作品制作に力を注いでいる。

日本の駅でよく聴かれる列車の到着時の警告アナウンスだ。このアナウンスが言う黄色い線とは、黄色い線からのホーム側なのか、線路側なのか、あるいは線の上なのか。駅の黄色い線とは飛び込もうとする者にとって最後の境界線となる

„Kiroi sen made Osagari kudasai“
On any platform in Japan, we often hear this caution, and it means "For your safety, please stand back to the inside of the yellow line.”
So actually the inside of the yellow line has at least three meanings;
„on the yellow line“ or „on the platform side of yellow line“ or „on the railroad side of yellow line“. The yellow line may be the last border to give up one’s suicide.

私は自身の絵画制作の過程において、インターネット上に存在する他者の視点を通して撮影された現実世界の一側面を、自身の描く絵画空間のマテリアルとして収集することから開始する。この時点で私は一度、他者の視点、つまり彼ら自身が切り取った現実を共有することとなり、その後それらをさらに分解、抽出し、画面の中で再構成する。
To create his paintings, he is looking online for photographic images. There are images of different statements, he then reassembles the "realities" in oil technique in his paintings. In his plays he staged in such a different reality. He hopes that the viewers of his small images corresponding small windows, an escape from the everyday reality is enabled.

福永　敦 Atsushi Fukunaga (Berlin)
サウンドインスタレーション、コラージュ / sound installations, collages
私の作品は音を模倣した言葉の表現であるオノマトペを主体とし、その語源とも言われる「言葉を創造する」という誰にでも創作可能な表現をテーマに、サウンドインスタレーションやコラージュ、またパフォーマンスなどにより多角的な「音」の具体化を各言語話者と共同で試みています。
I employ onomatopoeia, the linguistic expression that imitates sounds, as the central theme of my practice. The French word onomatopée comes from ancient Greek word ὀνοματοποιία, connoting “the creation of language,” and I believe anyone can participate in such creation process. Through my practice, working collectively with the people with different linguistic backgrounds, I attempt to make sounds into palpable forms as sound installations, collages and performances.
